“This is probably the best blanco on the planet. Love it. Huge bursts of olive and butter. Yum.”
A Legacy Rooted in History
Although Tequila Fortaleza as a brand was officially launched in 2005, its roots extend deep into the history of tequila. The Sauza family’s journey began in 1873 with Don Cenobio Sauza, a pioneering distiller who helped shape tequila as we know it today. His innovative ideas—including the early use of steam to cook agave—laid the foundation for generations of craftsmanship. Revived by Guillermo Sauza in 1999, the distillery honors this heritage by sticking to traditional methods passed down through the family. Every bottle of Fortaleza Blanco is a tribute to that storied past, where time-honored practices are cherished over modern shortcuts.
