The Bartender’s Pandan
Pandan, Done Properly
Behind Kota Pandan Liqueur stands Nico de Soto—the restless bartender who never believed great flavors were meant to stay in one place.
While traveling through Southeast Asia, Nico became fascinated by pandan: not flashy, not obvious, but deeply rooted in daily life. He tasted it in kitchens before bars, in family recipes rather than cocktail specs. That quiet power spoke to him. Instead of bending pandan to fit Western expectations, he chose to respect it—extracting its aroma slowly, carefully, the old way.
Kota Pandan is his tribute to those travels. A bridge between street markets and cocktail bars, between heritage and modern craft. Proof that the best ideas don’t come from trends, but from curiosity, humility, and knowing when a flavor already knows exactly who it is.
Tasting profile
NOSE
Fresh pandan leaf up front: green, aromatic and softly floral, with notes of steamed rice, vanilla pod and a subtle coconut creaminess. Clean and restrained, never sugary.
TASTE
Silky and gently sweet on the palate. Savoury-sweet pandan unfolds with hints of vanilla, almond and warm rice pudding, balanced by a light herbal bitterness that keeps it focused and mixable.
FINISH
Medium-long, elegant finish. Lingering green aromatics, soft vanilla and a dry, slightly nutty note that fades cleanly, leaving room for the next sip—or the next ingredient.
