Tasting profile
Nose
The nose is rich and aromatic, offering a complex bouquet of floral and herbal notes. Expect a pronounced scent of orange peel, followed by the warm sweetness of vanilla and a subtle hint of spices like cinnamon and cloves. The herbal components, including wormwood and gentian, provide an earthy, bittersweet undertone that adds depth.
Taste
On the palate, Cocchi Storico is balanced and full-bodied. The flavors mirror the nose with a perfect harmony of sweet and bitter elements. The orange and vanilla notes remain prominent, but there is also a delightful presence of dried fruits, such as raisins and figs, along with a touch of caramel. The herbal bitterness is well-integrated, adding a layer of complexity without overpowering the sweeter notes.
Finish
The finish is long and smooth, with the bittersweet herbal notes lingering, complemented by a lingering warmth from the spices. The slight sweetness fades gradually, leaving behind a clean, refreshing aftertaste.
